BC3 softball sweeps twinbill

BUTLER TWP — Karns City graduate Marra Patton was the winning pitcher as a starter and reliever Monday as the Butler County Community College softball team swept a doubleheader from CCAC.

Patton tossed four no-hit innings in the first game, a five-inning 10-0 triumph for the Pioneers (4-0). She came on in relief to pitch the final two innings of the nightcap, a 7-3 BC3 win in which the Pioneers rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the sixth.

Knoch graduate Bailey Rickenbrode had a triple, double and three RBI in the first game while Kans City grad Sarah Patton had a double, single and two RBI. Madison Hanan had a triple and RBI, Marra Patton a double and RBI.

Kristen Woolstrum started the second game in the circle for the Pioneers and struck out 11 in five innings. Marra Patton fanned five hitters in her two innings of relief.

Rickenbrode and Moniteau graduate Amanda Dailey both doubled and had an RBI. Marra Patton had a double and two RBI, Sarah Patton two singles and two RBI.

The Pioneers return to action Wednesday at Penn State-Greater Allegheny.
