KC graduate Stitt Athlete of Week

CLARION — Karns City graduate and Clarion University senior softball player Alyssa Stitt has been named PSAC West Athleteof the Week.

Stitt started two games at shortstop and two in left field during a pair of Golden Eagle doubleheader sweeps in Florida. She had nine hits in 16 at bats, including four doubles, six runs scored and six RBI.

SRU’s Dunn named Pitcher of Week

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior Devin Dunn has been named PSAC West Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Dunn threw his second consecutive complete-game shutout, a three-hitter against West Virginia State. He struck out four, did not issue a walk and allowed only two runners into scoring position.

Butler grad Bocci earns All-American

INDIANAPOLIS — Clarion University sophomore David Bocci had an outstanding performance at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, completing the 100 butterfly event in 1:46.19. That mark broke his school record by more than a second.

It also assured him All-American honors, making him the first Golden Eagle since 2013 to finish in the top eight.
