Cubs boxers advance in Golden Gloves

REYNOLDSVILLE — Two Butler Cubs boxers advanced in Golden Gloves competition over the weekend.

Leland Anderson won by technical knockout in the second round of his heavyweight bout. Leland Vanosetti won by decision at 95 pounds. Anderson advances to the Golden Glove Finals April 1 in Monroeville. Vanosetti competes in the semifinals March 18 in DuBois.

Cubs boxer Andy Diaz lost by decision at 140 pounds.

Butler’s Wolfe joins Ireland fight card

Butler Cubs boxer Wyatt Wolfe, 13, will square off against Darraugh Ryan, 13, at 132 pounds on a fight card pitting Pittsburgh amateur boxers against a visiting group of boxers from Ireland.

The fights take place at 6 p.m. Friday at The Priory on the North Side of Pittsburgh.
