Police Reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Adams Township

Jan. 31 — Lindsey D. Haskins, 40, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Police said she attempted to hit someone with a baseball bat.

Butler City

Jan. 31 — James E. Moss, 51, of Coraopolis, was charged with misdemeanors of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and drug possession after police said they stopped him Jan. 31 on West Wayne Street. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a needle and two stamp bags of an unknown substance were found on his person.

Butler Township

Feb. 6 — John David Appel, 45, of Renfrew was charged with sale or transfer of a firearm and unsworn falsification after police said he made a false statement on a firearm purchase form at Dick’s Sporting Goods in an attempt to obtain a firearm.

Feb. 13 — Two summary traffic violations were filed against Michael Duncan, 49, of Renfrew, after police said he was driving a pickup east on McCalmont Road and attempted to pass a slower-moving vehicle but collided head-on with a Chevrolet Camaro driven by Paul Ostrowski, 45, of Glenshaw. Both men were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with injuries. The road was closed for about an hour due to the crash.

Cranberry Township

Feb. 10 — Elisha Trinh, 34, of Mars, was charged with retail theft after police said she attempted to leave Walmart without paying for 10 toys she concealed in her purse and box of cereal. The merchandise was valued $108, police said.

Middlesex Township

Feb. 9 — Alison A. Oshea, 47, of Valencia, was charged with two counts each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after police said they responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Old Route 8 and forced their way inside after hearing a male and female screaming.

Police said they found the male bleeding from two lacerations on his face. He told officers that Oshea struck him in the face with a wine glass during an argument and attacked a juvenile.

Penn Township

Feb. 2 — Jeffrey C. Pogorzelski, 39, of Pittsburgh, was charged with felonies forgery, device fraud and theft. Police said he altered a check of $2,451 from a business and cashed it.

State police, Butler

Feb. 1 — Rosselyn M. Brace, 53, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors, theft, fraud and theft from a motor vehicle. Police said she removed a credit card and $90 from someone’s vehicle, spending $206 total on the credit card.

Jan. 31 — Paul M. Stitt, 43, of Prospect, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped him Jan. 28 on Election House Road, Franklin Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed Stitt’s blood alcohol content at 0.125%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Jan. 31 — Dana L. Powers, 41, of Slippery Rock, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped her Jan. 29 on Muddy Creek Drive, Clay Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later breath test showed Powers’ blood alcohol content at 0.215%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Jan. 31 — Robert J. Sutton, 58, of Connoquenessing, was charged with three misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped him Jan. 4 on Unionville Road, Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed traces of lorazepam and methadone in his system.

Jan. 31 — Lawrence J. Tolbart, 61, of Parker, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said he crashed his vehicle Jan. 10 on Main Street, Karns City. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath test showed Tolbart’s blood alcohol content at 0.143%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Jan. 31 — Harold D. Burd, 54, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped him Jan. 1 on West Jefferson Street, Butler City. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed Burd’s blood alcohol content at 0.154%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Jan. 31 — Haileigh E. Selfridge, 21, of Butler, was involved in a vehicle crash on Harmony Road, Slippery Rock Township. Police said she lost control of her vehicle due to road conditions and struck an embankment, rolling the vehicle.
