Local emergency fire and medical departments set to receive annual grant money

The Office of the State Fire Commissioner within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency has announced $31 million in grants will be distributed to 36 local emergency fire and medical departments.

The grants, through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, were announced last week.

Funding this year will reach 2,336 fire, rescue and emergency medical organizations that applied across the state.

The 36 local emergency fire and medical departments set to receive grants from a state program and the amount each department will receive:


Adams Area Fire District: $14,808.81

Bruin Volunteer Fire Department: $10,000

Bruin Volunteer EMS Company: $14,808

Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company: $14,563

Butler Ambulance Service Company: $10,000

Butler City Fire Department: $15,000

Butler Township Volunteer Fire District: $45,000

Callery Volunteer Fire Company: 14,563.18

Chicora Community Hose and Relief Association (Fire): $15,000

Chicora Community Hose and Relief Association (EMS): $10,000

Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service: $10,000

Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company: $15,000

East Butler Volunteer Fire Company: $13,089

East Butler Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance: $10,000

Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department and Relief Association: $11,861

Evans City Area Volunteer Fire Department: $15,000

Harmony Emergency Medical Services: $10,000

Harmony Fire District: $28,273.86

Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department: $13,089

Herman Volunteer Fire Company: $15,000

Karns City Regional Ambulance Service: $10,000

Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department: $12,352
