AARP Tax-Aide program opens
AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation now through April 18.
“AARP Pennsylvania is proud to be continuing our work with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide to provide Pennsylvanians with free tax assistance this year,” said Bill Johnston-Walsh, AARP Pennsylvania state director.
The Tax-Aide program offers in-person and virtual services to Americans 50 years of age and older. The program can be completed in-person, through low-contact meetings, online and over the phone, or independently using free software.
Tax-Aide counselors are IRS-certified volunteers, and access to services depend on volunteer availability.
“We know even modest refunds can impact the lives of older adults,” Johnston-Walsh said, “and our Tax-Aide volunteers help make sure they don’t miss out on the credits and deductions they have earned and need.”
