College notes

JAMES PARENTI (Moniteau) placed ninth overall in the weight throw for Grove City while competing at the Youngstown State Collegiate Indoor Track Invitational. His toss was 50 feet, 2.75 inches.

MASON BUSH (Seneca Valley) scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Penn State Altoona’s 65-59 men’s basketball victory over Penn State Behrend.

QUINTIN WEAVER (Union) set a Thiel record in the men’s indoor 800 meters by running the event in 1 minute, 59.36 seconds at the YSU Collegiate Invite. The record stood for 25 years.

BROOKE GRIFFITH (Karns City) ran the mile in a personal=-best time of 6 minutes, 29.81 seconds for Thiel at the YSU Collegiate Invite.

MADILYN BOYER (Knoch) scored 19 points in Penn State Behrend’s 103-52 women’s basketball win over Penn State Altoona.

EMMA PLANK (Portersville Christian; Slippery Rock) won the 100-meter freestyle in 57.79 seconds in Grove City’s women’s swim team’s 139-45 victory over Washington & Jefferson.

ALEX COTTON (Knoch) tossed the shot put 44 feet, .75 inches to lead Penn State Behrend’s men’s track and field team at the Highlander Invitational.

DAVID BOCCI (Butler) won the 500-meter freestyle with a time of 4 minutes, 49.13 seconds for the Clarion men’s swim team in a 144-56 victory over Edinboro. Bocci also won the 100 butterfly in 51.15 seconds.
