Raising Awareness
From left, Tracy Bishop, Sherri McKibbin, Paula Wenting, Fawn Eichner and Kathy Keown demonstrate Wednesday in Diamond Park to raise awareness for National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The women handed out bottled water and pamphlets and encouraged pedestrians to talk to government representatives about creating tougher laws against child abuse. The group wants to bring Michigan’s Dominic’s Law to Pennsylvania; the law creates harsher punishments for child abusers including allowing no plea deals and considering child abuse committed in front of another child as a second act of abuse.
