James Marburger
James M. Marburger, 78, of Evans City, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born Oct. 1, 1944, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Adam Martin Marburger and Jennie Mae Pearson Marburger.
Jim was a 1962 graduate of Evans City High School.
He was a passionate farmer, who was president and owner of Marburger Dairy. Jim belonged to the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the Pennsylvania Association of Milk Dealers. He was a member of the Train Collectors Association, and was a former member St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City.
Jim enjoyed bowling at Family Bowlaway and Freeway Lanes, and he played in many tournaments. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on the Steelers and Penguins. He also loved watching NASCAR races.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, trail riding, hunting, and traveling with his family. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, Paw Paw and friend, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Patricia McGrath Marburger, whom he married on Sept. 18, 1971; his children, Craig Marburger of Callery and Carrie (Jim) Robb of Evans City; his grandchildren, Caleb and Declan Robb; two sisters; and his brother-in-law, Jim McGrath.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Madison Robb; and his stepmother, Claire Marburger.
MARBURGER — Friends of James M. Marburger, who died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor John Barkley officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.
