Lifesteps names Star Award recipient
Sarah Harris was honored as the 2022 Star Award recipient Friday, Nov. 18, at Lifesteps’ Star Gala at the Atrium, 1031 New Castle Road, Prospect.
In addition to the naming of the Star Award winner, the evening also featured live music and dancing and a silent auction. A painting by Harris, which she created just for Lifesteps, was auctioned off.
The inspirational evening highlights the Lifesteps mission, honors those who inspire and celebrates Lifesteps’ life-changing mission.
Marissa Rosso, community relations administrator for Lifesteps, said Harris, a resident in one of Lifesteps’ group homes in the North Hills, was selected as the Star Award winner by a committee.
“Sarah is a strong advocate for herself,” Rosso said. “Lifesteps is just there to show her the way to reach her goals.
“She expressed a desire to express herself in art. She finds joy and fulfillment in creativity like that,” she said.
