Black boxes downtown are an eyesore

All the new decorations and new lights in the world are not going to change the ridiculous eyesore that exists on Main Street now in the form of giant black boxes.

We will assume the dominant new rectangular cases inhabiting downtown Butler have something to do with controlling the traffic lights or possibly they are required for extraterrestrial traffic that is coming for a tourism function in the year 2525.

Did anyone get advance notice that these ugly, massive metal cans were going to populate our streets? We know they are certainly not popular with merchants or the public.

The next time we go around town with our hand out asking for money for a beautification program, it would be wise to find a place to hide these first. Maybe an art contest to see the most creative design painted on them would help. Or maybe build ramps so skateboarders could execute trick maneuvers over them. They are certainly going to be obstacles for walkers — not to mention snow shovelers and wheelchairs.

Please tell us these hideous gadgets-holders are only temporary. If not, could someone at least paint the one outside Natili to look like a pizza box or maybe a façade of a movie theater? This was a major fail.
