Butler HOF adding 4 new members

BUTLER TWP — The Butler Area School District Athletic Hall of Fame will induct three former athletes and a coach during a ceremony in the high sc hool cafeteria at 6 p.m. Dec. 16.

The honorees are former Golden Tornado wrestler Cole Baxter, distance runner Danica Snyder Alexander and basketball player Nate Snodgrass, along with longtime wrestling coach Scott Stoner.

All will be recognized at the Butler home basketball game against Franklin Regional that night.

Mars’ Coffield, Howell make A-A game

ADAMS TWP — Mars girls soccer players Piper Coffield and Gwen Howell have been selected to play in the High School All-American Game at 11 a.m. Dec. 10 in Panama City, Fla.

Coffield, a midfielder, is headed to Indiana of the Big Ten while Howell, a defender, has committed to Richmond. There were 80 players from across the country selected for the game. Howell and Coffield are the only two girls selected from the WPIAL.
