Police Reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler City

Oct. 24 — Gregory A. Alfeiri, 30, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Police said he was involved in a fight Oct. 8.

Oct. 24 — Brandon F. Moore, 28, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault. Police said he punched someone July 20.

Oct. 23 — John J. Spencer, 27, of Tarentum, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault. Police said he punched someone in the face 10 times.

State police, Butler

Oct. 25 — Ronald E. Swartzlander, 53, of Harrisville, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence. Police said he was involved in a vehicle crash Aug. 25 on East Mercer Street, Harrisville. Police said a later blood test showed Swartzlander’s blood-alcohol level at 0.219%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Oct. 24 — David F. James, 43, of Pittsburgh, was charged with multiple misdemeanors of terroristic threats and reckless endangerment. Police said he brandished a weapon July 10 while driving on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.

Oct. 24 — Gage T. Nagy, 19, of New Brighton, was charged with misdemeanors of use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped him on Harmony Road, Slippery Rock Township, and that two cases of alcohol, marijuana and a rubber smoking pipe were found in his vehicle.

Oct. 24 — Shannon L. Winters, 40, of Clintonville, was charged with felony and misdemeanor theft. Police said she left Giant Eagle with merchandise without paying for it.

Oct. 24 — Jason S. Sunday, 47, of Prospect, was charged with a misdemeanor DUI. Police said they stopped him Sept. 17 on Ewing Lane in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.

Oct. 24 — Dean S. Hershey III, 20, of Karns City, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs. Police said they stopped him Sept. 2 on Sunset Drive, Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired and that a later breath test showed Hershey’s blood-alcohol content at 0.053%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Oct. 24 — Michael G. Whitling, 33, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs. Police said they stopped him July 17 on Cherokee Drive in Center Township. Police said a later blood test showed Whitling’s blood-alcohol content at 0.313%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Oct. 24 — Reginald Nix, 36, of Erie, was charged with possessing marijuana. Police said they stopped him Oct. 31, 2021, on North Main Street Extension, Center Township. Police said a small amount of marijuana was found in his vehicle.
