Open enrollment for Pennie, Pennsylvania’s official online health insurance marketplace, began on Monday.

Gov. Tom Wolf said in a news release that residents can apply, compare plans and enroll in high-quality health coverage all in one place.

Pennie’s Open Enrollment Period is from Nov. 1 through Jan. 15, with Dec. 15 being the deadline to select coverage that will begin New Year’s Day.

For people who select coverage between Dec. 16 and Jan. 15, coverage will begin Feb. 1.

Wolf said nine of 10 Pennie customers qualify for financial savings, meaning most are eligible for subsidized monthly premiums on their health insurance.

Currently, almost 40% of Pennie customers pay less than $75 per month for health insurance.
