ACMH receives $500,000 in grant money

ACMH in Kittanning will receive a $500,000 grant for upgrades to the hospital’s oncology wing.

The work is part of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. The hospital, in East Franklin Township, will also have new construction which will double the facility’s infusion capabilities.

Exam rooms in the lower level of the building will be expanded, along with expanded medical, waiting and support rooms, said state Sen. Joe Pittman, R-41st, and Rep. Abby Major, R-60st.

“As ACMH continues with its major expansion and modernization project, we are investing in this significant effort to protect and improve the health and well-being of our local residents,” Pittman said. “This grant follows a total of $1.5 million in prior (Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program) funding received for the Oncology Center project.“

A new drop-off lane with a canopy entry and immediate access to the elevator will also be added to the building.
