2 Pittsburgh men charged for allegedly stealing pallets from Adams Twp businesses, charged
Adams Township police have accused two Pittsburgh men of taking 171 pallets from multiple businesses in the municipality.
Nicholas L. Lee, 32, and Freddie W. McCray, 36, were charged Monday with multiple counts of misdemeanor theft and conspiracy in connection to two September incidents.
Police said the first theft occurred around 5:35 p.m. Sept. 15 at a business on Mars-Valencia Road. Police allege that the video surveillance footage shows a white Chevrolet box truck in the parking lot and two men loading pallets into it.
Police said the two men in the truck, later identified as Lee and McCray, returned to that business Sept. 16 and asked the owner for pallets, which he denied them.
The 15 pallets stolen from the business are valued at $150, police said.
On Sept. 19, the owner of a second business reported to police that 150 wooden pallets, valued at $1,560, were discovered missing.
Video surveillance footage again showed two men loading the pallets into a white Chevrolet box truck.
Police said Lee and McCray’s employer identified them as the truck drivers on duty during the incidents. According to charging documents, the employer stated Lee and McCray had been caught stealing pallets in Mount Lebanon following the thefts in Adams Township. The vehicle was impounded.
Lee admitted to the Adams Township thefts in a later interview, police said.
As of Thursday, preliminary hearings for Lee and McCray have not been scheduled.
