The annual Giving Tree Program is expanding to serve 17 nonprofits throughout Butler County and northern Allegheny County this year.

The program, conducted by the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce, will provide local businesses with tags with the holiday wishes of children, seniors and families. These businesses will collect, from the community, the returned tags with gifts for those in need.

The program kicks off in November. Last year, the program collected 600 donated gifts.

“(North Hills Community Outreach) is very grateful to be part of the Giving Tree Program with the chamber each year,” said Tom Baker, who serves as outreach’s executive director. “It enables many children in our 40 ZIP codes and 50 communities to receive wonderful gifts over the holidays. It truly brings happiness and joy while also providing financial relief to our clients.”
