Mars football sets Salute to Service

ADAMS TWP — Mars Area High School will host Salute to Service Night when the Planets’ football team hosts Hampton at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Mars Athletic Complex.

Freeport grad Lampus shines in defeat

GREENVILLE — Westminster College junior and Freeport graduate Lauren Lampus tallied 12 kills and 13 digs in the Titans’ 3-2 women’s volleyball loss at Thiel Tuesday night.

Westminster slipped to 2-20 on the season.

SV grad Redilla leads soccer win

BEAVER FALLS — Seneca Valley graduate Julia Redilla scored a goal and assisted on another Tuesday as the Westminster College women’s soccer team shut out Geneva, 3-0.

Redilla scored the first goal of the game.

Steel City Stampede set for Lernerville

BUFFALO TWP — The 14th annual Steel City Stampede takes place at Lernerville Speedway Thursday through Saturday.

The event features RUSH Sprint, Late Model and Modified races. Practice takes place Thursday night, heat races for all divisions on Friday and feature races on Saturday. Racing begins at 7 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.
