William Yuhas
In loving memory of William Yuhas whose birthday is October 11.
Our dad was one of the unsung hereos of World War II. He was a front nose gunner stationed in England, flying bombing missions over Germany and occupied France.
Dad never chose to talk much about his time at war - probably too many memories of misery and sacrifice that was best left to the unspoken mind.
He was also our hero - modeling selflessness, sound judgment and strong values. It was a common attribute among members of the Greatest Generation.
Dad never desired any recognition, however deserving. Just knowing that he and our mom raised four honest, intelligent and grateful children was recognition enough for him.
We love him so much.
