Mars resident Wilson wins for W&J

GREENVILLE — Mars resident and North Catholic graduate Victoria Wilson, a senior on the Washington & Jefferson College women’s tennis team, won a pair of matches recently against Thiel.

Wilson won at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-3. She teamed with Emma Humphrey to win at No. 3 doubles, 8-4. W&J won the overall match, 78-2.

Freeport grad Lampus Athlete of Week

SHIPPENSBURG — Freeport graduate Erica Lampus, a freshman libero on the Shippensburg University women’s volleyball team, has been named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week.

Lampus totaled 70 digs and four assists in three matches for the Red Raiders. She has had 20-plus digs in six matches overall and in three consecutive matches. She ranks second in the PSAC in digs per set.

SRU’s Hall receives special teams honor

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University sophomore Jawon Hall has been named PSAC West Special Teams Player of the Week.

Hall took the opening kickoff against Mercyhurst Saturday night and returned it 97 yards for a touchdown. He finished the game with 154 all-purpose yards, including a 16-yard touchdown reception.
