Sentence court

The following people were sentenced Thursday in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Kelley Streib.

David Leroy Foster, 65, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve two concurrent sentences of 27 to 54 months in prison and pay a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to a felony charge of failing to verify address or be photographed filed by state police on March 2, 2021, and pleading guilty to a felony charge of failure to register with state police filed by police on Nov. 1, 2019.

Foster is required to verify his address, submit to photographs and register with state police after he was convicted of a sexual offense in another state and added to Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law offenders registry. He was convicted of lewd or indecent proposal or act to a child on Nov. 13, 2002. The state in which he was convicted is not clear. He is being held in the county jaiin lieu of $25,00 bail. He was given credit for 583 days already served in prison.

Daniel Scorpio Irwin, 29, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay fines totaling $3,500 and complete 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his third driving under the influence offense filed by state police following a March 25 incident.

Scott Michael Stewart, 45, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation and acknowledged that he is not permitted to purchase firearms after pleading guilty to a charge of unsworn falsification to authorities filed by state police following an Aug. 31, 2021, incident.

Chester John Zinni, 44, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a March 7 incident.

Anthony Edward Bennett, 21, of Washington, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and complete 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following an Aug. 29, 2021, incident.

Lavell Dominique Beach, 27, of North Canton, Ohio, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay $150 in fines after pleading guilty to charges of harassment and resisting arrest filed by state police following a Jan. 28 incident.

Joseph Eugene Hemphill, 32, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and complete 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a Sept. 4, 2021, incident.

Joann Steele, 46, of Butler was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation, pay a $300 fine and complete eight hours of community service after pleading guilty to charges of DUI and recklessly endangering another person filed by Butler Township police following a June 2, 2021, incident.

Erick Austin Turnbull, 26, of Kennerdell, Venango County, was fined $100 after pleading guilty to a charge of harassment filed by state police following a Jan. 19 incident.

Luke Andrew Blackham, 30, of Valencia was sentenced to serve three to 23 months in prison but immediately was paroled after pleading guilty to a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver filed by county detectives following a Sept. 20, 2020, incident.

Franklin Cole Elliott, 23, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six to 60 months in prison but was immediately paroled to serve 18 months of house arrest, pay fines totaling $5,000 and complete 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his third DUI offense and driving with a suspended license filed by Butler Township police following an April 7, 2021, incident.

Cole William Christy, 39, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including six months of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and complete 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a Sept. 24, 2021, incident.

Casey Lynn Miller, 35, of Evans City, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay a $50 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of simple assault filed by state police following a Jan. 14 incident.

Tara Bensing, 35, of New Brighton, Beaver County, was sentenced to serve six months probation and pay $87.93 in restitution after pleading guilty to a charge of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a Feb. 7 incident.
