Helen Edinboro
Helen M. Edinboro, 84, a loving wife and mother of four children passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Helen was born on July 5, 1938, in Butler, to Paul and Edna (Stamm) Wilson. She grew up in West Sunbury, and graduated from Moniteau High School, Class of 1957.
On June 25, 1957, she married Kenneth D. Edinboro. They stayed in West Sunbury where they raised one son, Kenneth, and three daughters, Judy, Susan and Donna.
Helen spent her time out of the house working at Dassa McKinney Elementary as a cafeteria monitor and a leader at Weight Watchers in Butler.
Helen had a passion for her flowers, and garden and nature —gardening was her gift. She also loved reading, baking and spending time with her family. She was an avid traveler, and had traveled to 48 states with her husband.
She was a member at Community Alliance Church. She was known for her compassionate spirit, being a follower of God, and her commitment to her family.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, Paul, and her mother, Edna; two sisters, Janet and Pauline Wilson; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Edinboro and Kenneth Ford; and two sisters-in-law, Betty and Vera Edinboro.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her four children, Kenneth P. (Judith) Edinboro of Butler, Judy L. (Greg) Weaver of Prospect, Susan E. (Zane) Stephenson of Portersville and Donna M. (David) Johnston of Slippery Rock; her sister, Thelma Ford of Butler; her brother-in-law, Leslie Edinboro of Erie; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
EDINBORO — Friends of Helen M. Edinboro, who died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. Monday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. The service will be led by Helen’s cousin, Kenneth Thompson.
A private burial will be held at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
