Frole

On the morning of Sept. 12, 2022, Eugene “Gene” Frole of Weston, Fla., passed away at the age of 79 after a long battle with COPD.

Gene was born on Nov. 29, 1942, in Butler, and was the son of the late Eugene “Jan” Frole and the late Josephine Frole.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite “Peggy” Summerill, whom he married in 1963.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marsha Hunka and Brenda Edwards.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Michele Marquardt; a grandson, Hunter Marquardt; and his nieces and nephews.

Gene was a graduate of Butler High School in 1961.

He enjoyed following sports and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed traveling, going to Disney with his family and sharing his every meal with his beloved dog, Tootsie.

Gene and Peggy moved around quite a bit and settled in Massachusetts for many years, and they finally settled in South Florida, where they owned and operated their family export business in Miami for over 20 years.

FROLE — A private service for Eugene “Gene” Frole, who died Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, will be held, followed by him joining his beloved wife in the ashes of the wind.
