Chelcie Johnson
Chelcie “Chelly Kelly” Ellen Johnson, of Butler, earned her beautiful angel wings when she went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022.
She was born in Butler on March 23, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Dale Wonderly and Nell Marie Kestner.
She was the proud owner of Chelly’s Wedding Cakes in Evans City for many years, and also worked as a greeter at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Chelly enjoyed reading, watching scary movies, collecting elephants and, above all, laughing and being with her family. She never turned down a slice of pizza, gave the best back scratches, and insisted on bringing Waldorf salad to holiday dinners, much to her family’s protest. Chelly was vivacious and witty, and will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Johnson, to whom she gave 10 good years filled with laughter; her daughter, Wendy (Bruce) Wilson; three stepsons, Tod (Lindsay) Johnson, Jeremiah (Brandy) Johnson and Isaac (Eriko) Johnson; three step-granddaughters; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her Chel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; her stepfather, Jack Anders; and her second husband, John F. Kelly.
JOHNSON — A private celebration of life is being arranged for Chelcie “Chelly Kelly” Ellen Johnson, who died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Chelly’s name may be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
