Students may just be settling into their schedule this school year, but the students pictured here were probably “discussing plans for getting together with friends,” or “telling of family vacations in the coming weeks.”

The June 3, 1966 edition of the Butler Eagle reported that youngsters leaving St. Michael School were cheering for the end of the school year, while students at Butler Junior High were taking the school year’s completion more calmly.

When the newspaper reported the end of school, it also mentioned that Butler Senior High summer school would open soon after.
