Lane

Phyllis Marie “Phyl” Lane, 86, of Cabot, passed away on Sept. 15, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

She was born Oct. 20, 1935, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Paul C. Fonson and the late Marjorie Hockenberry Fonson.

Phyl graduated from Butler High School.

She worked at Armco as payroll administrator, was a substitute teacher’s aide at Butler School District, and worked for Amway as a distributor.

Phyl was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church and the Masonic-Rainbow Girls.

She enjoyed singing in the choir, hosting parties for family and friends, baking and cooking, and reading.

Phyl is survived by her husband, Donald E. Lane, whom she married on April 30, 1955; three sons, Donald E. (Tammy) Lane Jr., David P. (Roseann) Lane and Douglas S. Lane; three grandchildren, Rebekah M. (Scott) Lane Garland, Ethan J. (Ali) Lane and Kelsey N. Lane; one sister, Beverly F. (Don) Shelenberger of New Wilmington, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, John A. Lane and Richard S. (Nancy) Lane; two nieces, Kathy McCormick and Kristin Lane; and three nephews, Timothy Shelenberger, James Lane and Jeffrey Lane.

LANE — Friends of Phyllis Marie “Phyl” Lane, who died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, will be received from noon until the time of service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating.

Burial will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.
