Garris

Kenneth Duwayne Garris, 78, of Butler, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove.

He was born March 7, 1944, in Butler, the son of the late Russell E. and Dorothy (Curry) Garris.

Kenneth was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam.

He belonged to the Lions Club.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, golfing, boating and bowling.

Surviving are his son, Andrew “Pete” Garris of Butler; his daughter, Sonja “Sonnie” (Robert) Morrow of North Hills; two grandchildren, Casey and John Morrow; his sister, Carol Nodge of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Rae Garris, who passed away on Nov. 2, 2016; a son, Michael Pizor; and two brothers, Russell Garris Jr. and Ronald Garris.

GARRIS — Friends of Kenneth Duwayne Garris, who died Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Sunday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with military honors to follow.

Private burial will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
