Dennis Nulph

Nulph

Dennis C. Nulph, 71, of Evans City, passed peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022.

Born June 23, 1951, in Butler, he was the son of the late Edward C. Nulph and Shirley Bowser Nulph.

Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, where he played on the football team and competed with the wrestling team.

He was employed as a production supervisor by Callery Chemical/BASF and retired in January 2013 after 43 years. He served as the commander of the emergency response team at Callery Chemical.

Dennis was a coach for the Evans City youth football program. He served as commissioner for the ASA District 9, and was the president of the Evans City Youth Community Athletic Association. Dennis was instrumental in developing Charlotte Kohler Memorial Park, where he helped form the men’s softball team. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing camp, playing softball and bowling. Above all, he was devoted to his family and watching his grandchildren’s activities and sports. He will live in the hearts of everyone he touched.

Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Barbara Wise Nulph, whom he married on July 23, 1971; his sons, Stephen (Missy) Nulph of Evans City, and Kevin (Tammy) Nulph of Harmony; his grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Nulph and Courtney, Shelby and Kylee Smith; his great-grandson, Walker William Smith; his sisters, Marsha (Marvin) Haines of Virginia, and Debbie (Bob) Tarbet of Evans City; his mother-in-law, Mae S. Wise of Evans City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James “Ted” and Bessie Nulph; and his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Martha Bowser.

NULPH — Friends of Dennis C. Nulph, who died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Cope officiating.
