M. Kathleen “Katie” Miller, 91, of Warsaw, N.Y., passed away at home on Sept. 5, 2022.

She was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Evans City, and was a daughter of the late Loyal and Helen Hoffman Shakely.

Katie was employed for 21 years as a personnel clerk at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

She was a longtime member of the United Church of Warsaw, and the Red Hat Society.

She enjoyed socializing with friends, tending to her yard and flowers, and reading. Katie was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Above all else, Katie’s life revolved around her family. She loved family get-togethers and celebrations on the hill with campfires at the pond, darts, playing the name game and more. She stayed in touch with her grandchildren with phone calls and FaceTime, and she enjoyed playing Words with Friends and organizing family photo albums.

Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Miller; her son, Michael Miller; and grandson, Matthew Howard Miller.

Surviving are her children, Lisa (Michael) Patterson of Warsaw, and Kevin (Suzenne) Miller of Warsaw; daughter-in-law, Ellen Miller, of East Berne, N.Y.; grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Thomson, Benjamin Coogan, Meghan Coogan, Haley (B.J.) Rorick, Dillon Miller, Christopher Miller, Kathryn Miller and Grace Miller; great-grandchild, Zoe Grace Thomson; brother, Ronald Shakely, of Evans City; and several nieces and nephews.

MILLER — Friends of M. Kathleen “Katie” Miller, who died Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the ROBINSON & HACKEMER FUNERAL HOME, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw, N.Y.

Katie’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Warsaw, 22 S. Main St., Warsaw, N.Y.

Interment will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, in the United Church of Warsaw Memorial Garden.
