Beatrice Moore
Beatrice K. “Bea” Moore, 83, of Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry Township, formerly of Valencia and North Hills, passed away on Saturday evening, Sept. 10, 2022, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township.
Born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Adolphus and Sarah Dennison Koenig.
Bea graduated from Shaler High School in 1956, and Westminster College in 1960 with a bachelor of science degree in education. She had been an elementary school teacher for the Shaler Area School District.
She was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed playing cards in local card clubs.
Bea had been a volunteer for many years, running the turkey fund for North Hills Community Outreach Center.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel Moore II and his wife, Christy, of Wexford, and Thomas Moore and his wife, Maribeth, of Clermont, Fla.; two grandchildren, Samuel S. Moore III and Sarah A. Moore; her sisters, Diana Scott (William) of Gibsonia and Sarah Feldner of Butler; and a brother, Eugene Koenig (Charlotte) of Mars.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel S. Moore II, whom she married on June 10, 1960, and who died on Aug. 3, 2021.
MOORE — Friends of Beatrice K. “Bea” Moore, who died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars. Please meet at the church.
Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Township.
