Two people were killed in vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a car Friday around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Branchton Road and Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township were identified Saturday.

Butler County Coroner William Young III identified one victim as Gary L. Redmond of Franklin, the driver of the motorcycle. He was dead at the scene.

Also on Saturday, Mercer County Coroner John Libonati, said Jeannie Marie Summers, 51, of Slippery Rock, who was riding on the motorcycle, died as a result of blunt force trauma sustained from the accident.

Summers was transported from the scene by ambulance to the emergency department of AHN Grove City where she was pronounced dead at 4:47 p.m. Friday.
