Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Aug. 24 — Mark Owens, 44, of Pittsburgh, and Donald W. Reese, 24, of Zelienople, were charged with misdemeanor charges of possessing drugs after police said they stopped them Aug. 6 on Route 228. Police said suspected crack cocaine, marijuana and a THC vape pen were found following a vehicle search.
Aug. 26 — Two people were charged after a July 28 traffic stop on Kendall Avenue. Police said all three people in the vehicle had active warrants for their arrest.
Police said during his arrest, Andy M. Anderson, 30, of Butler, was found possessing meth and paraphernalia, for which he was charged with misdemeanors.
Police said during his arrest, William J. Shaw, 33, of Saxonburg, was found possessing crystal meth and paraphernalia, for which he was charged with misdemeanors.
Aug. 24 — Kathy McClain, 72, of Butler and a 16-year-old female were involved in a vehicle crash at the intersection of Benbrook Road and Greenwood Drive. Police said the 16-year-old pulled in front of McClain at a stop sign. There were no injuries, and the 16-year-old female received a traffic citation.
Aug. 24 — Kevin Stolle, 20, of Shirleysburg, and Ronald Graham, 54, of Butler, were involved in a vehicle crash at the intersection of Benbrook Road and Greenwood Drive. Police said Stolle ran a stop sign and hit Graham’s vehicle. A passenger in Stolle’s vehicle suffered a minor injury, and Stolle received a traffic citation.
Aug. 24 — Hannah Linkel, 35, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and a summary charge of criminal trespassing after police said she tried to enter a residence, was screaming threats and assaulted a woman by grabbing her neck and shoulders, scratching her.
Aug. 23 — Jacob V. Dressler, 21, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanors for driving under the influence and damaging vehicles during a crash after police said they responded to a hit-and-run accident July 13 on Little Creek and Woodland roads. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed Dressler’s blood-alcohol content at 0.161%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
Aug. 24 — Cory J. Malis, 62, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanors for use and possession of drug paraphernalia after police said he was reported missing Aug. 7 and found Aug. 8. Police said Malis was in possession of cocaine and marijuana.
Aug. 26 — Thomas J. Reese, 42, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of drug, marijuana and paraphernalia possession after police stopped him on Villa Drive, Butler Township. Police said they found marijuana in his clothes, and later they found cocaine in the vehicle, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 24 — Philip A. Kearns, 36, of Renfrew, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs after police said they stopped him Aug. 14 at Meridian Road, Renfrew. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath tests showed Kearns’ blood-alcohol content at 0.182%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
Aug. 24 — Jarrod A. O’Donnell, 43, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanors for DUI and damaging vehicles during a crash after police said they responded to a hit-and-run crash Aug. 5 at Saint Joe and Game Reserve roads, Donegal Township. Police said O’Donnell showed signs of impairment.
Aug. 24 — Russell D. Stroup, 43, of West Sunbury, was charged with felony possesion of firearms without a license, misdemeanors for use and possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic citations after police said they stopped him July 28 on Washington Street, Eau Claire borough. Police said Stroup admitted to having a loaded pistol in the center console which he was not licensed to carry and was in possession of marijuana.
Aug. 23 — Marksu J. R. Lavan, 31, of Chicora, was charged with a felony and a misdemeanor for a false written statement after police said he answered falsely when attempting to purchase a firearm May 9 at Rural King in Center Township.
Aug. 22 — Rebecca L. Glosser, 32, of Pittsburgh, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft after police say she left Boscov’s in Center Township with $694 in merchandise without paying for it.
Aug. 25 — Matthew J. Ptak, 25, of Zelienople, was charged with 37 misdemeanors for use and possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge for driving without a license after police say they stopped him July 11 on West Grandview Avenue. Police said a glass crack pipe, 23 empty stamp bags and other drug paraphernalia were found in his vehicle following a search.
