Winger wins Schaltenbrand Memorial

BUFFALO TWP —Georgia resident Ashton Winger was able to keep momentum going in winning the $4,000 Ken Schaltenbrand Sr. Memorial Latye Model feature Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.

Sarver resident Michael Norris and Chub Frank started up front for the 30-lap event. Norris had the early lead, but surrendered it to Winger on lap 19. Norris went off turns one and two with four laps remaining to take himself out of contention.

Matt Lux wound up second and Alex Ferree third. Winger came up north for a trio of races and was coming off a $10,000 win the previous weekend at a Talladega short track.

In other features Friday, Garrett Krummert picked up his first Fab4 Modified feature win of the season, passing Brian Swartzlander on lap 12 to grab the advantage. Dan Shetler won the Sprint feature, his first such triumph at the Sarver oval in two years.

Chris Schneider picked up his fourth feature win of the season in the Pro Stock division.

There were 78 cars in the pits overrall, including 32 Late Models. The Fab4 points season concludes at Lernerville this Friday night.
