Francis Seitam
Francis A. "Frank" Seitam, 87, of Buffalo Township, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, surrounded by his family at his residence.
Frank was born in Freeport on April 28, 1935, a son of the late Domenica (Burlando) and George Mario Seitam.
He was a 1952 graduate of Freeport Area High School. He graduated from Saint Vincent College and received his master’s degree in music from IUP. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army.
After returning from the Army, Frank taught music at Freeport Area High School for 10 years. He then worked as a music teacher for Butler School District for 37 years and also gave private lessons. Frank was a man of faith and a member of Evangel Heights Church in Sarver. He was active in the church ministries and enjoyed sharing his faith with others.
Frank enjoyed community activities. He was the director of the Kittanning Firemen's Band for many years. He also was co-founder of QAM. He enjoyed Notre Dame football, the outdoors and hunting, exercising and telling bad jokes.
Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois M. (Ebig) Seitam; two daughters, Kathy (Gary) Astor of New Kensington, and Margie (Barry) Gregory of Freeport; a son, Dan (Sharon) Seitam of Oakmont; grandchildren, Stephen Nacy, Jeremy (Sara) Astor, Julianne (Matt) Kline, Megan (Ashton) Saunders, Joshua Gregory and Stephen (Kimberly) Sweat; great-grandchildren, Austin (Kelsie), Emily, Erin, Shawn, Ashton, Sebastian, Owen, Esmond, Anna and Jacob; and a great-great-grandchild, Harper. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas (Grace) Seitam of South Buffalo Township; sister, Patricia Davis of Natrona Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Marie Nagy; brother, Albert "Bud" Seitam; two grandchildren, Corey and Robin Sweat; and a great-grandson, Justin Sweat.
SEITAM — At his request, there will be no public visitation. Funeral services and burial will be private for Francis A. "Frank" Seitam, who died Friday, Aug. 19, 2022.
The family has asked that no flowers or trees be purchased in Frank's memory. His wish was that all memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Heights Food Ministry "Filled with Hope" at 120 Beale Road, Sarver, PA 16055.
