SRU men’s soccer picked for 4th
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University’s men’s soccer team is picked to finish fourth in the PSAC West preseason coaches poll.
The Rock is coming off a 6-10-1 overall record in 2021, 3-7-0 in league play. Goalkeeper Aly Hossam had a .720 save percentage in 14 matches last season.
Gannon and Mercyhurst received three first-place votes each in being picked as co-PSAC West champions. Seton Hill, SRU, California and Pitt-Johnstown round out the poll.
Brown posts 3 more racing wins
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove three more horses to victory Wednesday during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Brown won with Vicki Everyday — a 4-year-old gelding — in an $8,800 Conditioned Pace. He then triumphed with Cellular, also a 4-year-old gelding, in an $8,000 Conditioned Claiming Trot.
Finally, Brown won the co-feature by driving 8-year-old mare Maching Me Zilly to victory in a $9,900 Claiming Handicap Pace.
