Budding traditions often switch things up, and the humble beginnings of the Butler Farm Show are no exception.

This photo from the Aug. 18, 1966, edition of the Butler Eagle was shown beside others of young people experiencing the show attractions. A collection of photos appeared in print just one week following the Farm Show.

The 18th annual show would have looked different to current county residents, but displays of farm equipment and livestock still were abundant. As depicted, paddleboats were still taken on the pond by children and adults alike.

The 1966 Farm Show marked its first time as a five-day event, and since then, the week of festivities has become a staple in county summer fun.
