Butler library features exhibit on Sts. Peter, Paul church
A visual history of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora is on display at the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., through Aug. 31.
Items on display include photographs of parishioners dating back to 1919, pysanky (decorated eggs), ceramic pieces, dolls, korovai (wedding bread), cross-stitched pillows and shirts, carved wooden plates, eggs, and a pipe, icons, crosses and various other cultural and religious items.
Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox parish will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the church on Sept. 17.
