Zelienople Library plans pirate night
The Zelienople Public Library will hold “A Pirate’s Night for Me” from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Zelienople Community Park, Shelter 3. The event is for people ages 13 and older.
Members of Broken Plow Western Martial Arts will do a sword-fighting demonstration. Attendees will learn historical facts about the real pirates of Caribbean, the life of sailors and ocean exploration. The event includes pirate trivia and complimentary pizza.
Starting in September, the library will begin speaker series called Local Showcase, highlighting local residents who want to share their knowledge and expertise on a topic.
The series starts a 2 p.m. Sept. 10 with Tim Cammisa of Trout and Feather. He will be doing a fly-tying demo and talking about his book “Fly Tying for Everyone.” Copies of the book will be available to purchase and have signed.
