Louave (Mohney) Hollobaugh, 98, of Sherrett, Pa., passed away peacefully Saturday evening, July 16, 2022.

She was born April 21, 1924, in Widnoon, Pa., where she lived most of her early years in that quiet little village. She was the daughter of the late Harry C. Mohney and Goldie (Young) Mohney.

Louave went to Widnoon Public School and Methodist Church. Later, she graduated from Kittanning High School.

She worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Creighton near Pittsburgh, a small mill that made tubes, then Kittanning ice cream plant, and lastly, she worked for 13 years as a janitor with Armstrong School District.

Louave married Paul Hollobaugh of Sherrett, where she spent the later part of her life. Most of her spare time was spent with family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Hollobaugh) Appel and her son-in-law, Paul Henry, near East Brady; her son, Tom Hollobaugh and his wife, Diane (Hornberger) Hollobaugh, near Butler; her daughter-in-law, Judi (Bicker) Hollobaugh of Worthington; six granchildren, Josh Hollobaugh, Jake Hollobaugh, Chad Hollobaugh, Todd Hollobaugh, Dustin Appel and Chris Appel; seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hollobaugh, Avery Hollobaugh, Jace Hollobaugh, Jacobi Hollobaugh, Jaxx Hollobaugh, Piper Appel and Paisley Appel; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hollobaugh; her brother, Harry Mohney; and her son, Beatle Hollobaugh.

HOLLOBAUGH — Friends of Louave (Mohney) Hollobaugh, who died Saturday, July 16, 2022, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 832 East Brady Road, Cowansville.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service at Sherrett Methodist Church, 640 Sherrett Road, Cowansville, with Pastor Debbie Marshall officiating. A luncheon will be held in the church basement following the service.

Burial is in Sherrett Cemetery.
