St. Barnabas hosting 5K for free care fund
St. Barnabas Charities will host the 31st Annual Free Care 5K at 9 a.m. Aug. 6 at the St. Barnabas Gibsonia campus on Meridian Road. Proceeds from the event support the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, which provides $6 million in care to patients and residents every year.
Competitive and amateur runners, joggers, walkers, teams, stroller pushers and wheelchair racers of all ages will enjoy a rolling 3.1 mile, out-and-back course. Pets, smoking and inline skates are prohibited. A post-race party will feature raffles, food and the awards ceremony emceed by Joe Klimchak, in-game host of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Registration is $25 per person before Aug. 6 and $30 per person on race day. People who register before Friday will receive a race T-shirt and runner’s bag. People who are not able to attend can register and receive a race shirt and runner’s bag to support the free care fund. To register, participants should visit FreeCare5K.com or call 724-625-3770.
