Richard McClain
Richard Donald McClain, 81, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022.
Richard was born July 9, 1940, in Washington, Pa. He was the son of Daniel and Mildred McClain.
He was raised in Mars, and graduated in the Class of 1958 from Mars High School. He attended West Liberty State College and obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He went on to work for Hartford Insurance Company and later joined the Seneca Valley School District as a school bus driver.
He married Linda (Forsythe) McClain and two daughters were born. They later divorced and he met Jeanette Schrecongost. The two of them resided in Cranberry Township. He was member of Lifeway Baptist Church in Cranberry Township. After Jeanette’s passing, Richard moved to Las Vegas so he could be here with his kids.
Richard is remembered as father, grandfather, dog-lover, country western music fan (especially Johnny Cash), model car collector, classic car fan and American History/true crime buff (such as Bonnie and Clyde). He made many friends at Casa del Sol Senior Community and enjoyed his time spent with them. He enjoyed men’s breakfast, bingo, card games, karaoke and outings with senior social group.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Stacey Lynn Weiss-Grogan and Deborah Jane Hawkins; his grandson, Tyler Rea Weiss; his sister, Joyce McGlothren; and nephew, Daniel McGlothren.
MCCLAIN — A visitation for Richard Donald McClain, who died Friday, July 1, 2022,will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at PALM EASTERN MORTUARY, Las Vegas, Nev., with a funeral service to follow at noon.
A committal service will occur at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nev., with a reception to follow.
