Pittsburgh airport gets $20M for improvements
Pittsburgh International Airport has been awarded $20 million through the Airport Terminals Program to support of its terminal modernization program.
Gov. Tom Wolf announced Thursday that the airport, Philadelphia International Airport and Lehigh Valley International Airport will receive a total of $49 million through the new federal grant program created by the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
The project at the Pittsburgh airport includes construction of a 700,000-square-foot terminal that will improve the passenger security screening checkpoint and checked baggage inspection system, baggage handling equipment, U.S. Customs and Border Protection area, and associated public spaces, according to a news release from the governor’s office.
