William Sye
William H. Sye of Zelienople passed away Tuesday morning, July 5, 2022, in the comfort of his home.
Born Sept. 27, 1929, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Ethel Herman Sye.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a carpenter and retired as a truck driver for Motor Express and Hazen Fuel Reed Oil Co. Bill enjoyed hunting, gardening and woodworking and had a passion for fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Anna L. Meadors Sye, whom he married on March 14, 1953; his children, Sarah E. Williams and her husband, Donald, of Lakeland, Fla., and their two children, Donald Williams and his wife, Ava, of Florida and their daughter, Angela Martin and her husband, Jonathan, of Virginia; a son, William B. Sye and his wife, Cindy, of Zelienople, and their three children, Tonya L. Sye of Connoquenessing and daughter, Ashley N. Sye, of Zelienople and son, Dustin W. Sye, and his wife, Stephanie of Ellwood City; a daughter, Dale A. Nagel, and her husband, Bruce of Fort Garland, Colo., and their three daughters, Brandy Bartlett and her husband Micah, Natasha Hammond and her husband, Shawn, and Trisha Gates and her husband, Jeremy.
Bill was blessed with eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Rinaman, and her husband Earnest of Wexford; and two nieces and one nephew.
SYE — Friends of William H. Sye, who died Tuesday, July 5, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Stephanie Sye officiating.
Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life reception following the memorial graveside service at the family home.
