Weekend Recap: Fourth of July

From Slippery Rock and Harrisville to Mars and Zelienople, Butler County celebrated the Fourth of July weekend with family, food and fun.

Slippery Rock recognizes holiday with festivities

Two blocks of South Main Street in the borough were turned into a festival of Americana on Saturday during the borough’s third annual Independence Day celebration.

Harrisville holds big celebration

Residents of Harrisville, Grove City, Slippery Rock, Marion and other counties crowded the parade route for what Ken Miller, pastor of Harrisville United Methodist Church, described as the largest event in Harrisville all year.

Zelie parade highlighted something for everyone

There's no telling exactly how many people took to the streets of Zelienople on Monday, with lawn chairs in some places two rows deep for the borough’s annual Fourth of July parade.

Mars celebrates the 4th with parade

The annual parade brought something for people of all ages to enjoy, which included food vendors, balloon artists and airbrush tattoo artists near the spaceship by The Narrative Church and the Christian Community Church of Richland.
