Martin Silver Cup set at Lernerville
BUFFALO TWP — The Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXXI Sprint car race — featuring the Tezos All-Star Circuit of Champions and a $25,000 first-place prize — takes place Wednesday night at Lernerville Speedway.
Brad Sweet won last year’s Silver Cup feature.
Hunter Schuerenberg of Sikeston, Mo., won an All-Star series race April 29 at Lernerville. Anthony Macri, Justin Peck and Tyler Courtney lead the series with four wins each this season.
Hot laps and time trials begin at 6 p.m. Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
Bercurys score win in harness racing
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Carolina Beach, trained by Bill Bercury and owned by Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock, scored a narrow victory in harness racing action Saturday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The 8-year-old gelding captured an $11,200 Conditioned Pace.
Lysakowski departing as Lernerville GM
BUFFALO TWP — Mike Lysakowski has resigned his general manager’s position at Lernerville Speedway, accepting a full-time position with a government agency.
Lysakowski was a steward of the track’s history and prestige and is leaving Lernerville on good terms. The Tomson family has officially opened up the general manager’s position.
