Town Crier: South Butler School Board meeting
At their Wednesday meeting, the South Butler County School Board:
* Approved the final version of the 2022-23 budget in the amount of $38.3 million. The budget does not include a tax increase.
* Approved a motion to work with Energy Harbor in an attempt to find more economic rates regarding the district’s utility bills, which have increased from $9,000 to $24,000 per month.
* Authorized DRAW Collective and Eckles Construction Services, the high school renovation project’s architectural firm and construction management firm, respectively, to work with the district solicitor and administration to prepare the contract with Shaw Sports Turf for the construction of the synthetic turf field at the Stadium.
* Heard David Foley, superintendent, report that the district is having issues finding a car to use in the drivers education program and is advising parents to send their new drivers to a private drivers education.
