Joseph Kessler
Joseph F. Kessler, 90, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Valencia, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Rose Kraus Kessler.
Joseph was the beloved husband for 69 years to Lorraine H. Gallenz Kessler.
He was the loving father of Kevin J. Kessler, Amy L. Kessler Carter (David) and the late Joseph R. Kessler (Michelle); brother of Ed Kessler (Althea), Tony Kessler, Betty Rosenberger (John), and the late Bill (Betty) Kessler, Nick (Ruth) Kessler, Theresa (Ray) Crawford and Sister Zita Kessler; and the dear grandfather of Chelsea Nypaver (Kaleb), Cameron Carter, Madison Kessler and Tristan Kessler.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, Joe served two years of active duty and four years in the Army Reserve.
He was a longtime auto body repair specialist for Foss Ford, Nursery Park Gulf, was owner of Kevin's Auto Body on Route 8, and worked part-time for Tom Henry Chevrolet after retirement.
Joe’s greatest passion was cars, especially collecting and rebuilding antique cars, which he did his entire life. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with his wife, Lorraine.
KESSLER — Friends of Joseph F. Kessler, who died Saturday, May 28, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Sepulcher Church with the Rev. Charles Bober as celebrant.
Interment with military honors will follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.
