I had the pleasure of attending Butler Little Theatre’s production of “Broadway Bound” last week, and was impressed by the show’s equal parts of humor and serious subject matter. If you have the chance, I’d recommend catching the last show of BLT’s season which is tonight through Saturday night.

The Mr. Bookman Bookfest has invaded Butler Farm Show Exhibit Hall, 625 Evans City Road, this week. Aside from 150,000 books, the sale offers access to DVDs, CDs, vinyl records and audiobooks at 10 a.m. today through 3 p.m. Sunday. Prices decrease throughout the weekend, so be sure to check it out!

Butler Downtown’s Foodie Friday is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. back at the 205 N. Main St. parking lot. Food trucks will line up and music will play select Fridays this summer. Be on the look out!

The Garden Market Flower and Food Fest by Butler County Parks and Recreation starts at 9 a.m. Saturday in Odd Fellow Loop at Alameda Park. Food, plant and activity vendors will be showcased to help you ring in spring.

Take a walk the North Side Cemetery, 1002 N. Main Street Extension, at 11 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. Saturday for the “Echoes from Our Past” Cemetery Walk. Characters from Butler’s local history will be present to discuss their past lives to travelers. Tickets are $10 for Historical Society members and $15 for non-members. Support Stephen Miller and his family during his COVID-19 recovery at a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Prospect Fire Hall, 373 Main St. Miller went into the hospital with COVID on Oct. 1 and has yet to return home.

Butler Art Center is holding their Members Only Show until June 3 at 344 S. Main St. during gallery hours. Visit butlerartcenter.org for more information.

Freeport Theatre Festival will have auditions for it’s 33rd summer season from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2498 White Cloud Road. A variety of roles, including in the ensemble, are available. For more information contact Marushka at 724-295-1934.

Concordia at Cabot’s free concert series kicks off with Miss Freddye’s Homecookin’ Band at 4 p.m. Sunday on the patio at 148 Marwood Road, Cabot, use entrance 5. Each concert is two hours and will include an intermission, with opportunities for tours of the facilities and grounds.
