Rock splits doubleheader with Pitt-Johnstown
SLIPPERY ROCK — After cruising to a 12-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown in the first game of a doubleheader Friday at Critchfield Park, the 18th-ranked Slippery Rock University baseball team had its 11-game win streak snapped with a 5-4 loss in the nightcap.
The 11-game streak was the sixth longest in SRU baseball history.
Devin Dunn tossed a four-hit shutout and struck out five for The Rock (29-10, 14-8). Connor Hamilton had three hits, two home runs , three RBI and scored four runs in the twinbill. He is hitting .416 with 13 homers and 39 RBI.
Joel Spishock had three hits. Alex Robenolt and Luke Trueman homered as well.
UPJ fell to 17-23 overall, 5-17 in league play. The teams conclude their weekend series with a 1 p.m. twinbill Saturday in Johnstown.
