Butler Twp

1:29 p.m. April 20 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 2004 near Portman Road.

Police said Daelene Rodgers, 48, of Fenelton, crossed into the opposing lane and hit a vehicle driven by Braedyn Troyan, 26, of Butler. Police said both drivers suffered injuries and were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Rodgers was cited accordingly.

Penn Twp

April 18 — Robert P. Bittner, 26, of Renfrew, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from a March 26 traffic stop on Steppland Road near Airport Road.

Police stopped the vehicle for the driver’s failure to use a turn signal. Police said field sobriety tests showed Bittner was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.149%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

April 18 — Chad E. Stroup, 47, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct related to a March 6 report of a man being dragged by a vehicle at Sheetz on Route 8.

Police said the driver had fled, leaving behind the man who was allegedly dragged by the vehicle. The man told police he was trying to exit the vehicle at a traffic light because he felt the driver was too drunk to drive. Police said Stroup returned to the Sheetz parking lot, where police talked with him. Police said Stroup told officers he didn’t think he had to stop after his passenger fell from the vehicle.

Mars

April 18 — Jacquelyn C. Sabo, 23, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats after she allegedly threatened the father of her child.

The man told police Sabo threatened to burn his apartment down while he slept and steal his car. According to police, the man also has a PFA against Sabo.

Middlesex Twp

April 19 — Melva L. Vantine Schurer, 43, of Valencia, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following a single-vehicle crash on Browns Hill Road.

Police found Vantine Schurer in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Police said field sobriety tests showed Vantine Schurer was impaired, and a later blood test showed her blood-alcohol content at .252%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

SRU

April 14 — Joseph C. Ganchuk, 21, of Saltsburg, was charged with misdemeanor DUI, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession stemming from a March 25 traffic stop on North Road, Slippery Rock Township.

Police stopped the vehicle for broken taillights. Police said field sobriety tests showed Ganchuk was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system. Police said Ganchuk also turned over a duffle bag with marijuana and paraphernalia in it.

State Police, Butler

April 19 — Keith A. Goldstrohm, 48, of Bridgeville, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from a March 19 traffic stop on Route 8 near Thomas Avenue, Butler.

Police stopped the vehicle for expired registration and crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Goldstrohm was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at .118%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

April 19 — David M. Williams, 60, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from an April 15 traffic stop on East Jefferson Street near 3rd Street, Butler.

Police stopped the vehicle because its registered owner, Williams, had a DUI-suspended license. Police said field sobriety tests showed Williams was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at .108%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

April 19 — Steaphanie L. Szymanski, 49, of Saxonburg, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from a Feb. 20 traffic stop on Route 422 near the Mitchell Hill exit, Summit Township.

Police stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Szymanski was impaired, and a later breath test showed her blood-alcohol content at .126%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

April 19 — Joshua J. Green, 40, of West Sunbury, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following a single-vehicle crash March 20 on Shawl Drive, Clay Township.

Police found Green exiting the vehicle as they arrived. Police said field sobriety tests showed Green was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at .206%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

April 19 — Richard E. Matuke, 47, of Pittsburgh, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of making false statements while trying to buy a gun Aug. 26, 2020, from Sportsmans Supply, Summit Township.

Police said Matuke failed to include his criminal history on the form.

State Police, Kittanning

April 18 — Michael G. Saunders, 36, of Cabot, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from a March 27 traffic stop on Butler Road near Buffalo Trail Drive, Buffalo Township.

Police stopped the vehicle for a broken brake light. Police said field sobriety tests showed Saunders was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood alcohol content at .109%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.
